At some point in our lives, we encounter people who do things that make us unhappy. It may be or not be hard to accept their apology. Sometimes it pains deeply when they do not apologies or just go scot-free. Then emotions rise, rage and the feeling to avenge for being saddened. According to the human thinking (one that is not filled with the Spirit of the Lord), we shall find satisfaction that justice has prevailed once we have avenged.
However, this is contrary to what the Bible says. Forgiveness is the most beautiful form of love. When someone does something wrong against you, there is that feel of revenge. We feel that it is rational to put justice into our own hands. ‘Beloved, do not avenge yourselves, but rather give place to wrath: for it is written, “Vengeance is Mine, I will repay,” says the Lord. ‘(Romans 12:19 NKJV).
Forgiveness makes us free from bondage of anger. Avoiding ourselves fall into remorse and allowing God to fill our hearts with His pure Love.Forgiveness is more of being strong enough than of weak, strong enough to let it pass for the sake and of our Lord Jesus Christ.
God is the only one who can help each and every one of us to let go of the entire grudge we have been holding for so long.‘Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also must do’ (Colossians 3:13 NKJV).
Lesson Learnt: And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, just as God in Christ also forgave you’ (Ephesians 4:32, NKJV)
